With a collage of fruit and vegetables, the 14-year-old Salzburg student and stamp collector Jakob Hansbauer convinced the well-known jury: his motive adorns the youth brand 2015. This is not designed by renowned artists, but by young people themselves; For four years now, there has been the Youth Creative Competition, which is open to young artists from all over Austria. This year, the young people were invited to submit drawings, paintings, collages or photographs on the subject of healthy nutrition, the chosen technique being entirely up to the participants themselves. - The right nutrition is of course of particular importance in children and adolescents, since already at this age, the foundation for the subsequent nutritional behavior is laid. Obesity is a topic that increasingly affects young people. Varied, age-appropriate prepared and vitamin-rich diet with lots of fruit and vegetables is the best prerequisite for healthy children from becoming healthy adults. The new special stamp has a nominal value of 0.68 euros, the surcharge of 20 cents is used purposefully for the youth work of the Association of Austrian Philatelistenvereine. These include a number of interesting activities - such as school projects, where children are brought closer to philately, seminars and the support of youth groups with appropriate material. In addition, this additional 20 cents per mark will be used to promote youthful participation in the exhibition and to hold a so-called "Youth Day" in the world-famous post office Christkindl.
