The Austrian Federal Government officially declared the year 1969 the "Year of the tenth Land". In this way, the Council of Ministers has acquired a position that is also recognizable to the general public in relation to the group of Austrian citizens about whom, strange as it may sound, little is known in Austria. These are the so-called "foreign Austrians" an already numerically significant group of compatriots, namely around 350,000 people. They differ from Austrian nationals only in the fact that they have moved their regular residence abroad for a shorter or longer period of time. Since time immemorial there have been a certain number of people who - forced or voluntary - have sought their fortune abroad. So there is still today in the middle of the Peruvian jungle the settlement "Pozuzo". The Tyroleans living there are descendants of those farmers who founded the village in 1859. The largest number of emigrants were forced in 1938 by the invasion of Hitler in Austria to leave their homeland. The Austrians living abroad are held together by their love of their homeland and the Auslandsösterreicher associations, which not only help to start a new life, but also help in social emergencies. The brand image shows a globe surrounded by a red-white-red band.
