Under the leadership of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, these norms were realized by the working class in alliance with all democratic forces in the German state of the peaceful future, the German Democratic Republic. This is reflected in the State Council building with the locations of the Chairman of the State Council, but also in the reproduction of the tower of the Red Town Hall, in which formerly Karl-Liebknecht and Wilhelm Pieck, important workers' leaders, fought as city councilor for peace and democracy. The Brandenburg Gate stands as a symbol for the fact that with the establishment of the anti-fascist protection wall on 13 August 1961 the peace-endangering policy of the West German imperialism and militarism was offered a clear stop. Our guests from all over the world will be able to see for themselves how successfully since then the construction took place in all areas of political, economic and cultural life. It is difficult today to imagine that only 20 years ago the center consisted of 75 percent rubble.
