The stamp shows in the left half the town hall Stralsund and on the right the St. Georgen church in Wismar. The facade of the Town Hall Stralsund reflects in its splendor the pride of the Hanseatic city at the height of its power in the 14th century. The St. Georgen Church in Wismar is a monumental architectural monument of the brick Gothic. During the Second World War it was badly damaged. The reconstruction begun in 1990 is the most comprehensive monument preservation project in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
