Built in 1334, the Blackheads Riga is considered the most magnificent adornment of the capital of Latvia. It is named after the Brotherhood of Blackheads, the gathering of unmarried merchants in the Hanseatic cities of the Baltic. During the Second World War, the building was destroyed. Reconstruction began in 1995 and was completed in 1999. The legacy written above the entrance portal has thus come true: "If I should fall down, build me again!"
