Judo sport is organized worldwide in the IFJ (International Judo Federation). In this organization, five continental federations are united. As a member of the EUJ (the European Judo Union), the Austrian Judo Association belongs to the IJF. He was founded on 29 January 1955 in the General Assembly of the Association for unarmed self-defense. With the awarding of the JUDO-WM 75 to the Austrian Judo Association he not only received an honorable but also a very difficult task. The archetype of judo is the traditional jiu-jitsu of ancient Japan.
