Children's and Youth Spartakiads of the GDR 1975 For the Fifth Children's and Youth Spartakiads of the GDR in 1975, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued four special postage stamps. V. Child and Youth Spartakiade of the GDR 1975 The Spartakiad movement is a social concern in the German Democratic Republic. It is an effective way to involve the majority of children and adolescents in regular exercise. It commits to great efforts to emulate the best athletes in our country, many of whom were themselves Spartakiad winners. The German Gymnastics and Sports Federation of the GDR, the Free German Youth, the pioneer organization "Ernst Thälmann" and the Ministry of Education are under the Youth Act of the GDR carrier of the Spartakiadebewegung.
