The Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz is one of the most notable landscape features in the world. From about 1764 to 1800 in the vast floodplains on the Elbe and Mulde between Dessau and Wörlitz emerged, it is still preserved to this day for the most part in its originality. On about 150 square kilometers nature, art and agriculture are ingeniously united. Embedded in the landscape are buildings that represent important starting points for the development of architecture in Germany and Central Europe. With Neo-Gothic, Classicism and other architectural styles, the generosity of 18th-century design meets with the beginning of industrial society of the 19th century.
