It can't be reached by car. And if you want to get there by foot or bike, you have to take on a lot of exertion. But you will be rewarded: Val Mora is a uniquely beautiful, breathtakingly barren wilderness. This beauty is captured on this special block. The Val Mora is the focus of the second stage of the Alpine Bike Tour, which leads in 16 stages from Scuol to Aigle. The start of the stage is in Cierfs (Val Müstair), the destination for the day after two passes is Livigno in Italy. The photographer of the special block discovered the valley herself by bike and immediately felt reminded of the Canadian wilderness. With her work she wants to convey the untouched, secluded and expansive nature of this typical Swiss landscape. Apart from alpine cattle, bikers and some hikers, you won't find anything in Val Mora even during the summer months - and this is exactly what she wants to express with her photography. The scene was taken in the east of the valley, in the Döss Radond. It is her personal favourite view and stands for her preference for "green sparseness".
