Dresden Transport Museum The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes five multicolored postage stamps with illustrations from the Dresden Transport Museum. Special cancellation from September 13 to November 12, 1977 Transport Museum Dresden 5 Pfennig value: Oldest original steam locomotive in the GDR "Muldenthal" The steam locomotive "Muldenthal" was built in 1861 by the Saxon machine factory Richard Hartmann, Chemnitz, under the factory number 164. This 1 B tender locomotive was originally without cab and used until 1947 on the Bockwa-Oberhohndorfer Railway. In the coal mine "August Bebel" Zwickau she performed as shunting locomotive until 1953 her service. After the takeover by the Dresden Transport Museum, the interim driver's cab was removed. The reconstruction work was carried out in the Raw unit Leipzig-Engelsdorf.
