It is a gem of late Gothic architecture - the church of St. Reinoldi in the center of Dortmund. The origins of a sacred building date back to the 9th century. The construction of the pillar basilica began in the second half of the 13th century. The city master builder Roseer from 1421 built a light-filled choir and built from 1443 to 1454 a 112 meter high tower, the "miracle of Westphalia". This collapsed in 1661 and destroyed large parts of the church. The rebuilt Reinoldikirche took in the Second World War great damage and was inaugurated on 3 June 1956 again.
