The centerpiece of the special postage stamp bears the word "freedom" in the venerable colors of Austria, artistically shaped into a flag by the artist. The brand is intended to document the country's desire for freedom, which in 1955 had already been waiting for the restoration of its unrestricted sovereignty for ten years. The value of this mark at that time corresponded to the fee for a correspondence card abroad. This mark was therefore destined to convey to the whole world the hot desire of all Austrians and to warn the powerful to redeem a historical promise. A little later this call was heard, and with the Austrian State Treaty began a new period of unrestricted state life.
