In addition to many other places in Austria, the city of Vienna was heavily devastated by air strikes during the last months of World War II. After all, Vienna was still a theater of war. Soon after the end of the war, therefore, great efforts were made to restore the buildings in the federal capital. Continuously new houses, even entire residential areas were built, which gave the city a new face. As a client, not only the public sector, but also the private construction activity was stimulated and encouraged and included in the concept of reconstruction. On the periphery of the city in the tenth district of Vienna is built by the Municipality of Vienna Per Albin Hansson settlement, named after the late Swedish Prime Minister. A section of this settlement holds the fourth stamp of the special stamp series.
