The brand image shows the new Westbahnhof. The old Viennese Westbahnhof, which was built around 1860, did not meet the needs of transport in spite of structural extensions for decades. The serious devastation of the Second World War was finally a compelling reason to start with the construction of the new station. After extensive preparatory work, construction began in May 1950, and the design was designed by the architects Hartinger and Wöhnhart. The existing in the old station separation between departure and arrival side was no longer made. The dominant middle section of the building is formed by a hall that is twice 20 meters wide and 100 meters long. The opening of the new Westbahnhof was in December 1952 by the then Federal Minister of Transport and nationalized companies, Dipl.-Ing. Karl Waldbrunner, made.
