In 1303 the development of Hall had already progressed to such an extent that the Duke of Austria, Prince of Carinthia, granted Hall the city charter with the same rights and freedoms as Innsbruck. The importance of the city goes back to the economic prosperity of the salt production and the salt trade. In addition, Hall was the 1477 founded there prince mint of greatest economic benefit. The presence of rich silver mines in the Inn Valley and the transfer of the residence from Merano to Innsbruck led Archduke Sigmund the Coined to move the mint from Merano to Hall. First, this mint, which had become famous far beyond the borders of Tyrol, was located on the outskirts of the town in the princely residence of Spaberegg, later in the Halls, in Hasegg Castle near the Saline, and finally in the nearby Münzturm. This coin tower, which is also shown on the stamp, is the landmark of the city. Already in the 14th century, the healing power of the brine was recognized and smaller spas were built. In 1930, the municipality of Hall in Tyrol opened a modern spa center and later a spa hotel. Since then, the healing power of Solbades Hall in Tyrol has helped many seekers of salvation at home and abroad.
