On 14 October 1990, the population of Saxony chose for the first time since the dissolution of the Saxon Landtag in 1952 again their state parliament. The Landtag new buildings were begun in October 1991 on behalf of the Saxon State Ministry of Finance as the first representative state building construction project in Dresden on the Old Town Elbpromenade. In February 1994 they were handed over to the Saxon Landtag. In the construction planned by Prof. Peter Kulka, the concern of the Saxon delegates - as close to the citizen as possible - should be realized in an optimal way. Therefore, the concept for the adjoining the plenary hall Elbflügel offers a variety of uses by the public.
