The Landtag Rhineland-Palatinate is located in the Deutschhaus in Mainz. The baroque building has become the first address of the country with the provision of the seat of parliament. Rhineland-Palatinate was newly created on August 30, 1946 by the Order No. 57 of the French General Koenig. The legislative body of the country advises and decides since 18 May 1951 in this historic house. The parliament elected on 18 May 1947 met during the first term in Koblenz. He finally determined on 16 May 1950 Mainz as the state capital. The Deutschhaus was built between 1729 and 1740 and initially served as the administrative headquarters of the Teutonic Order.
