The Turn World Championships took place from 1 to 9 September 2007 in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Hall in Stuttgart. It was the fourth gymnastics World Cup, which was held after 1966, 1989 and 1994 in Germany. The meeting of the world's best gymnasts was considered a crucial qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. In addition to the gymnastics competitions, a comprehensive supporting program was planned, including an "International Gymnastics World Cup Camp" as a special leisure experience for young people. At the same time, the German Gymnastics Federation used the Turning World Cup 2007 to point out the special significance of exercise, play and physical activity for the healthy development of children with a nationwide campaign »Children's gymnastics - the future opportunity«. The patron of the Turn World Cup was Chancellor Angela Merkel. The special stamps of the series »For Sport« appear with supplements in favor of the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe. The aggregate proceeds support the Foundation's work in all areas of sport. The motifs of the four sports brands of this year are dedicated to the topic »World Championships in Germany«.
