In keeping with the start of the Handball World Cup in Germany, the first brand of the series will be released on January 2, 2007. At the longest World Cup in handball history to date, 24 nations will be in six preliminary groups in Kiel, Bremen, Magdeburg, Halle / Westfalen, Stuttgart and Wetzlar. The opening match will take place on 19 January in Berlin. Then Germany and Brazil face each other. The main rounds will be held in Dortmund and Mannheim, the quarter- and semi-finals in Hamburg and Cologne. At the final on 4 February 2007 in the Kölnarena, up to 20,000 spectators can cheer on live. The special stamps of the series »For Sport« appear with supplements in favor of the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe. The aggregate proceeds support the Foundation's work in all areas of sport. The motifs of the four sports brands of this year are dedicated to the topic »World Championships in Germany«.
