The special stamps of the series »For Sport« appear with surcharges in favor of the »Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe«. The knock-on revenues support the social concerns and tasks of the Foundation in all areas of sport. The football globe is a 20-meter high sculpture made of steel, plastic and glass. The work of art designed by Viennese artist André Heller has the shape of a football. It is part of the accompanying arts and culture program of the Football World Cup 2006. The mobile pavilion will be touring the twelve venues in Germany for three years. In panel discussions and theater shows, through films and music, he brings the motto of the 2006 FIFA World Cup ™ to life: "The World as a Friend".
