The special stamps of the series »For Sport« appear with surcharges in favor of the »Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe«. The knock-on revenues support the social concerns and tasks of the Foundation in all areas of sport. At the Nordic World Ski Championships from 16 to 27 February 2005 in Oberstdorf, around 400 athletes from about 40 nations will compete for medals. Altogether there are 19 competitions, three in Nordic Combined, four in Special Jumping and six each in Women and Men in Cross-Country Skiing. The title fights will track around 300,000 spectators in the stadium and on the trails.
