Disabled Sports The number of people with physical or mental disabilities in our society has grown steadily in recent decades. The goals of disability sports are the preservation and improvement of the remaining skills, the activation of self-initiative, the overcoming of inhibitions and the strengthening of self-confidence. Disabled people should be able to take a firm and recognized place in the profession and in everyday life. Only with the help and understanding of non-disabled people can integration into society succeed. This concern is particularly the joint sport of the disabled and non-disabled. Disability sport is more than just movement: it is an indispensable pillar of life for those affected and a way to self-assertion.
