To support the tasks of the German Sports Aid Foundation Otto-Fleck-Schneise 12 in Frankfurt, a supplement stamp series with the motives football (50 + 25 Pf), cross-country skiing (90 + 45 Pf) and the motif Dressage (here shown) ( 60 + 30 Pf). The dressage is part of the equestrian sport and at the same time the basis of all equestrian disciplines. His story goes back a long way. More than 2,000 years ago, Xenophon described in the book About Equestrianism basic teachings that are still valid today. Dressage involves the gymnastic training of the horse and its careful education with the aim of developing its natural abilities, willing obedience and to promote its efficiency. The athletic performance tests range from the initial stage on light, medium and heavy tasks to the Olympic dressage tests: the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special, in addition to the basic gaits u. a. Traversals, flying gallops, pirouettes, piaffe and passage are required. Since 1912 dressage is an Olympic discipline. So far, German riders - most successful in international comparison - won eight gold, six silver and six bronze medals.
