20 years trim action (140 + 60 Pf) »The trim action is the most successful nonprofit campaign ever in the Federal Republic of Germany,« the Emnid Institute judged several years ago. The reason: Not only has this campaign a high profile, it has had a significant impact on the lives of millions of people. Meanwhile, 63% of the total population, and in the approximately 66,000 gymnastics and sports clubs of the German Sports Federation alone 22 million citizens are registered as members. Of those who trim, 37% do it regularly, twice or more a week. Twenty years of trim action - but these are also, in particular, actions and programs that guarantee that every citizen in our country will regularly and everywhere find the opportunity to actively engage in sports activities with others. These include the trim games with annually 6,000 popular competitions in 20 different sports; these are the regular weekly run meetings, of which there are now 2,800; these are the fiestas with around 800 events a year, and this includes the trim festivals that have been offered since 1987 as »showcases for popular and recreational sports« for the associations and clubs. A highlight is the end of April the "Trimm-trot into the green" as a kick-off event for the outdoor season of trimmers with over half a million participants at almost 3,000 venues. The Volkswandertag in October now records around 800 events every year. Also the German sports badge is part of the trim action 1988; In the year of its 75th anniversary, there were a new record of 818,633 awards. The trim action, launched on March 16, 1970 in Berlin, is recognized worldwide and has become a model for similar actions. - The current campaign "The club is sport most beautiful" is the sports club and its volunteers as an essential guarantor also for the success of the trim action out.
