This is a charity issue in favor of Volkshilfe. A painting "The Children of the Artist (Part of" Caritas ") by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640). He was a master of Flemish Baroque painting, but also worked as a diplomat. He painted over 600 paintings. Rubens preferred religious subjects, but also painted portraits and landscapes. Since November 20, 1947, the French currency was 1 Franc = 100 centimes on the Saarland stamps. the editorial board therefore records the nominal values of catalog numbers 226 to 378 in centimes.
