Small game The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic announces six multi-colored commemorative stamps for the "Year of the Small Game 1968", which is to increase the number of small game stocks. The stimulus for this special stamp series was given by the State Committee for Forestry at the Agricultural Council of the GDR. Small game Six special postage stamps and a first day envelope bring the philatelists close to hunting animals. A special cancel complements this issue with designs of small game. The gray goose (Anser anser L.) is the motif of the 25 Pfennig value. It is a migratory bird, breeds in Eastern and Northern Europe (in the German Democratic Republic in the Uckermark and Mecklenburg) and winters in the UK and Southwest Europe. The geese fly in an angle or in line, live gregariously outside the breeding season, feed on plants and spend the night on lakes or ponds. The sexes do not differ externally. Greylag geese reach a weight of 3 to 4 kg.
