Major Buildings in the German Democratic Republic 3rd Edition The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes six multicolored special postage stamps depicting significant buildings in the German Democratic Republic. Important buildings in the German Democratic Republic 5-pfennig value: Town Hall in Tangermünde In the 14th century, the church in Germany withdrew as a construction contractor. The leadership took over the economically strengthened bourgeoisie. In the wealthy cities of the Hanseatic League, this change is clearly expressed in the magnificent town halls. Stylistically, these buildings followed the trends of their time. As in the Gothic churches, we find the emphasis on the vertical by long arches and buttresses, we find arched vaulted, broken rosettes, richly decorated windows and turreted decorations. In Tangermünde is one of the most beautiful gothic town halls. The east wing with the display wall, chosen as a motive for the brand representation, was probably built around 1430 by Heinrich Brunsberg. The south wing shows an open court and market arbor. Such Laubergänge have their model in the rural lobby house and point to the connection of this late Gothic bourgeois architectural style with the popular culture.
