The destruction of the Second World War also affected the so-called "Reiterstellwerk" in Vienna, which was located in a kind of bridge in front of the exit of the Vienna Südbahnhof and connected to a service building on the Südtiroler Platz. The replacement of this large interlocking was, since the shape of the bridge interlocking had not proven to be particularly useful, together with the construction of the extended, now one-storey higher service building, connected. Since the building is located in the axis of the Favoritenstraße, the target point was a tower on the west side, which was designed as a clock tower dominated the South Tyrolean square. The brand motif shows an oncoming train and in the background the semaphore facilities of the Südbahnhof.
