Treasures in libraries of the GDR The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the GDR publishes four multicolored special postal stamps with the illustrations of treasures in libraries of the GDR. Special cancellations from 19 June to 18 August 1990 Treasures in libraries in the GDR The four examples selected for this series of stamps are from the holdings of the Deutsche Staatsbibliothek, Berlin. 110 Pfennig value: Cover of the Amalienbibliothek. The illustration shows an example from the music library of Princess Anna Amalia of Prussia (1723-1787). This rich in music manuscripts library has been lovingly cared for in the outside. In addition to plain brown leather bindings with gold embossing are the already characteristic colored bindings, which bear witness to the personal relationship of the owner to them. The luminosity of the individually colored bindings has not diminished to this day. The vignette on the FDC is borrowed from a 16th-century cover imprint.
