The stamp series "Flowers" aims to draw people's attention to the beauty and variety of flowers in the garden and in the wild in Germany with modern and at the same time timeless motifs. The colorful and atmospheric representations should help to rediscover and enjoy the little pleasures of everyday life that are often barely perceived in our hectic times. The "weeping heart" (Latin Dicentra spectabilis) is one of the poppy plants. His original homeland is Siberia, China and Korea. Since around the middle of the 19th century, the Watering Heart has been cultivated here in peasant and community gardens and has long been one of the most popular plant species. Bleeding hearts prefer to thrive in humus rich, partially shaded locations. Depending on the location of growth, the perennials reach heights of 40 to 100 centimeters with the reddish to gray-green, roachy stems. The flowering period lasts from April to June, but may vary depending on the location. The heart-shaped flowers are united in bunches, which hang down on thin stems vertically. The complicated structure of the flower with a 18 to 20 millimeters deep nectar source allows in this country only the long-trunked garden bumblebees and the fur bees to pollinate the flower.
