The dancer and dance teacher Gret Palucca was born on January 8, 1902 in Munich. From 1920 to 1925 she studied in Dresden with the founder of expressive dance, Mary Wigman, but appeared as a soloist in 1924 with her own dance evenings and already taught in the mid-20s in a separate school. Even after the Second World War Gret Palucca remained faithful to her native Dresden and reopened her dance school, which remained under her artistic direction even after nationalization in 1949. Gret Palucca taught until the very old age in the field of "New Artistic Dance". She died on March 23, 1993 in Dresden.
