A new postage stamp continuous series with representations from industry and technology replaces the postage stamp continuous series "Federal President Heinemann". The postage stamps of 10 Pfennig, 30 Pfennig and 70 Pfennig appear as further values of this series with the inscription Deutsche Bundespost (at the same time and same motives the stamps also come out with the inscription Deutsche Bundespost Berlin, the first three values were issued on May 15, 1975 ) carry the following motifs: 10 Pf: commuter train The stamp shows the three-part train train ET 420/421, consisting of the two head cars and the middle car. In this electrically operated transport means - used essentially as a light rail - several trains can be coupled together to form a larger train unit. Initially, only the middle cars were developed in lightweight aluminum construction. Due to good pressure and load tests and because of the high weight saving compared to the lightweight steel construction method, the aluminum lightweight construction method can also be used for the end cars. The weight saving per car body box is 5 tons. The three-piece train in aluminum brings a weight saving of about 14 tons compared to a steel version. The train can hold a maximum of 575 people and reaches a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
