With »Landmarks«, the Deutsche Bundespost replaces the series »Castles and Palaces«, begun in 1976/77. The new permanent series with its extraordinary representations of significant cultural and technical achievements out, but should also be an incentive to look at the objects once in the original. Of the new role brands - they appear at the same time and continue the new series - the 40 Pf value will be identical in the issues »Deutsche Bundespost« and »Deutsche Bundespost Berlin«, the 90 Pf and the 280 Pf value only in the issue »Deutsche Bundespost«, published. The name of this office building goes back to its client. The Hanseatic merchant Henry Brarens Sloman had this unique business building built by Fritz Höger in the period from 1922 to 1924. Sloman gave the name of his master builder "Chilehaus" to remind of his long stay and the good business with the South American country. The result: one of the most important creations of German Expressionism. Today, the Chilehaus is listed as well as the entire Kontorhausviertel around. In addition to Hamburg's "Michel", it is another striking landmark of the port and trading center Hamburg - a monument and a practical, beautiful workplace for 1,200 people in 130 companies on 5,000 sqm of office space.
