Supplement to the 1975/76 introduced postage stamp series "Industry and Technology". The importance of the discovery of "X-rays" - known abroad as the X-ray designation chosen by Röntgen - for medicine, industry, mineralogy, and structural research is well known. With the discovery, a new era of physical research began. The impulse to search for further new rays was given. The development eventually led to the discovery of radioactive substances and thus to the findings on the energy expressions of the atomic nuclei. The 60-pfennig value appears at the same time and the same motif as the inscription Deutsche Bundespost Berlin.
