Supplementary values to the 1976/77 introduced roller-brand continuous series »Castles and Palaces« The values for 25 Pf and 90 Pf appear simultaneously and match the same designation with the inscription Deutsche Bundespost Berlin. Vischering, a significant and picturesque moated castle, had Bishop Gerhard von Münster built shortly before 1271 as a safeguard against the Lords of Lüdinghausen. He gave it as a fief to the Drosten of Wulfheim, who called themselves since Droste and still own the castle (Count Droste to Vischering). In 1521 a fire raged, in 1720 and at the end of the 19th century modifications took place. Now Burg Vischering serves as a museum. (Extract from texts by the German Castle Association e.V.
