The Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), the umbrella organization of the national stamp collecting societies of many countries of the world, has designated the Federal Republic of Germany as the venue for its annual conference in London in September 1970 in London and the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten eV (BDPh) an international conference Stamp exhibition granted in Germany. Munich was chosen as a meeting and exhibition venue. The special stamps appear in accordance with a pledge from 1959, according to which Deutsche Bundespost issues additional stamps in favor of philately over the years in which its annual international congress takes place in the Federal Republic of Germany. The Bund Deutscher Philatelisten (German Confederation of German Philatelists) has learned about its nature and work in the first booklet announcing the IBRA '73. a. The following is stated: An "International" is both a recognition and a test for the organizing Philatelist Association. He suddenly comes into the public eye, is exposed to interest, criticism and questions. Philately in Germany is organisationally supported by the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V., a federal association with around 60,000 registered members in nearly 800 clubs throughout Germany. The German philatelists were already hosting and hosting international stamp exhibitions in 1930 and 1959. Unforgettable was the IPOSTA 1930 in Berlin and in 1959 the INTERPOSTA in Hamburg, which after the Second World War illustrated the integration of the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten into the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie. For example, the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten brings to the IBRA München '73 the international problem of "special collections", that is to say those exhibits that inevitably led a shadowy existence in the conventional country-by-country division of an exhibition. The specification of the "national class" is further designed in such a way that the highest possible chances are also granted to those collections which are materially arranged after 1919 and after 1945, respectively. Stamp collections is given a respectful place, post-historical research has finally been awarded wide space. Understandably, participation in a World Stamp Exhibition is only possible for those who have taken certain qualifying hurdles or who have been given the green light by the State Commissioners or the Philatelic Committee. But many others are still on the long journey of those who started decades ago with an exhibition career and who are now in the focus of the philatelic public. And for those who want to move forward, a member organization like the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten offers help, a springboard and a wealth of experience that is basically priceless. The Bund Deutscher Philatelisten works closely with the Deutsche Bundespost and has good contacts to the Bundesverband des deutschen Stampmarkenhandels. The federal government is supported by 10 state associations and around 800 local associations, where they collect their "philatelic home" as a collector. With the membership in a federation affiliated association is at the same time the admission into the federation of German philatelists connected. Each of the four figures shows a picture of an old post house sign. The originals are in the Post Museum in Frankfurt am Main.
