Supplementary values to the postage stamp continuous series »Industrie und Technik« introduced in 1975/76. Already in the thirties Herrmann Kemper, the "father of the electromagnetic suspension railway", made the first successful experiments. Since since then, with the problems of modern high-speed traffic, the interest in new solutions grew and significant technological advances, especially in the power electronics promising solutions could be expected, at the end of the 60s, developments in various countries were resumed and intensively pursued.
