After the definitive stamp for 0.51 Euro with the picture of the "Schönlaterngasse" now the other definitory stamps, which no longer correspond to the new tariffs, were artistically overprinted with the default value of 55 cents. The University of Applied Arts in Vienna invited their students to a design competition. The task was to find original graphical suggestions for overprinting the old nominal values. The students of 2 master classes enthusiastically took up this project and had excellent, innovative and surprising ideas. The best designs were selected by a jury and are now available as trademarks. Eight permanent stamps will be reprinted in 2005 as overprint stamps at EUR 0.55. EUR 2.03 - a perforation interrupts the brand image and so it visually becomes a brand in the brand.
