A considerable part of this collection is the microscope collection. Some of the remarkable microscopes can be seen in the exhibition of the Optical Museum of the Carl Zeiss Foundation Jena. These are microscopes from the late 17th century to 1980. At the 20-pfennig value is a composite microscope according to the Culpeper's type shown, which was manufactured in 1740 by the microscope maker Huntley in London. The optical equipment consists of five simple lenses and a Huygens eyepiece fixed to the tube. The tooth and drive movement allows the displacement of the tube in a sleeve.
