Folk races, which led to circulatory collapses and death in 1967, because untrained, enticed by target times, too much expectation, led in popular sports circles to the conviction that informal walking without pressure to health would be more beneficial. Clubs from Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Austria founded the Int. National Sports Association, short "I.V.V.". Because of the failure to join sports associations, a separate organization has been set up, which currently includes sports associations from 20 countries. The idea that one of foot, cycling and ski touring professionals according to the Olympic motto "Being there is more important than winning" without pressure to perform to attend one's own performances was a great success. In the year 2000 alone, 5200 member clubs made more than 15 million people out of 7850 applications according to the "I.V.V." guidelines! There is no time limit and no timekeeping, only checkpoints are to pass, the completeness of which is checked in the target, registered in "IVV" - Teilnahme- and kilometer scores and rewarded with awards.2001 there was in a Volksolympiade in Seefeld from 20. -24.6.2001 Hiking trails of 10, 20, and 42 km, a children's and a mountain hiking trail, 25 and 50 km of cycling trails and 500 and 1000 m swimming tracks. The brand, the migrating marmot "Seppel", has the 10-year-old Michelle Schneeweiss Designed in 1998.
