In 1976, Innsbruck, the capital of the Austrian province of Tyrol, was the venue of the Winter Olympics for the second time. From February 4 to 15, 1976, athletes from all over the world met for the XII. Olympic winter games for sports competition. The 12-day sports and social program started with an opening ceremony in front of a magnificent mountain backdrop in the Bergisel Jump Stadium.
