From January 10, 1949 to the end of May 1949 and again from January 1, 1950 to March 31, 1956, the compulsory surtax stamps (Berliner Notopfermarken) of the Bi-Zone and the Federal Republic of Germany were also compulsory in Württemberg as compulsory surtax stamps. From the 1st of July to the 21st of December, 1949, a housing-building tax stamp (catalog number 3) had to be used on the basis of the Württemberger law of June 24, 1949, otherwise the mail was returned to the sender. The sale of the residential construction-stamps ended already on 29 December 1949. From this day on, the compulsory surtax stamps were again sold and admitted in Württemberg-Hohenzollern (source: Michel Deutschland-Katalog 1999/2000, page 622). The catalog number 2 also appeared cut (catalog number 1a).
