On March 1, 1971, the new Highway Code comes into force. It contains new rules for road traffic and adapts the traffic signs applicable in the Federal Republic of Germany to international signs. "New rules in road traffic," is the motto of the special postage stamp series "Road Traffic", which is intended to help the population to point out the need to observe the traffic signs. The pedestrian crossing sign is located directly on the marking marked as a pedestrian crossing.
