As a living testimony of the past 750 years, the linden tree to Himmelsberg is the center and landmark of the village. It is one of the summer linden trees, which grow frequently in hilly terrain and in foothills at altitudes between 400 and 1,000 meters. The Himmelsberger Linde stands a hundred meters in the village near the St. Nicholas Church. It is a remarkable 25 meters high, its trunk has a circumference of nine and a diameter of 2.9 meters and a crown circumference of 22 meters. The lime tree was declared a natural monument on December 29, 1971, so that it is permanently preserved under the protection of nature.
