Just opposite the Hardegger castle, a massive boulder rises out of the forest, called Regina rock. Once upon a time a wild, young count lived at Burg Hardegg. He ate with his cronies and also led otherwise a blasphemous life. Many a fair maiden seduced the count, in order to repulse it after a short time. One day he also wanted to bring the beautiful Regina to his castle, but the maiden resisted all his false love stinks. Then the Count let them kidnap his servants and bring them to his castle. But even here she resisted all his wishes and so the count ordered his henchman to wall Regina into the rock face opposite the castle of living body. When the count wanted to look at his greyish work, he crashed his horse from the rock. The body of the knight and his horse were never found. But the count has to suffer the death sentence on the day before the last day. The people gave it the name Schimmelreiter and called the rock from there on the Regina rocks. The dead maiden has been seeking her grave since that time and is hovering towards the cemetery at midnight. The black woman still frightened the inhabitants of Hardegg often, until one night a forester went over the cemetery, saw the black female figure, ripped his rifle from his shoulder and only then fired. Since that time, no one has ever seen the Black Woman in Hardegg. (From: legends and legends from Hardegg)
