The Styrian Erzberg - the centuries-old workplace of many people living there - plays a major role in the world of thought (about a dozen stories are). Whatever the truthfulness of legends may be: the wrath of the god of thunder (event event), the wisdom of the Styrians in the choice of the present and the fulfilled promise of Aquarius (Aquarius legend) have made the Erzberg to the "loaf of Styria" to this day , Iron is found in many parts of the Styrian highlands. But the most famous mining area is the Erzberg (1466 m), the "Styrian Pyramid" near Eisenerz. Iron ore was mined here for more than a thousand years. The Mürz-Murtal line has grown historically. Tectonically, it was created 70 million years ago. Geologically, the Erzberg belongs to Grauwackenzone, which extends with the limestones and shale rocks from the Erdaltertum of Lower Austria to Tyrol. Today, the largest siderite deposit (FeCO³) in the world is the basis for the largest ore mining in Central Europe. The Styrian Erzberg has been the basis of the Austrian steel and iron industry for centuries. For centuries, the Styrian Erzberg has rightly borne the name "Styrian Loaf of Bread": it is the loaf of bread from which every generation cuts off a slice.
