The definitive stamp "Lindwurm von Klagenfurt" as part of the definitive stamp series "Legends and legends from Austria" deals with a legend from the capital of Carinthia. This legend goes back to the landmark of the city. The legend is one of the many dragon-slayer legends of European cultural heritage. To commemorate a heroic victory that ended a grave threat to the area's inhabitants, the vanquished lunar worm, with the protective tower in which the fighters were entrenched, was added to the city's coat of arms, and the massive structure of its body was carved from slate, on the Neuer Platz in the center of the Carinthian capital. Model of the Lindwurmkopfes is a fur rhinoceros skull, which was found in 1353 in the so-called Lindwurmgrube at the customs field north of Klagenfurt. Today this skull is in the Carinthian Provincial Museum.
