On the occasion of the mother's day 1967 a special stamp should call this honor day increasingly in the consciousness. Not only the mothers are to be thought of, who, as a nurse and nanny, cook and finance minister, as cleaning lady and secretary, as chauffeuse and doctor, as psychologist and playmate, partner and wife in personal union, feed, caring, encouraging and keeping the family together. It should also be remembered what the woman stands for as a mother: as a life giver, as a breadwinner, think of Mother Earth, as patient victims like the Mother of God, as those deities like the motherly Wittefru, the kindly Mrs. Gode, who not only Humans, but also animal mothers in need of assistance. The special postage stamp shows the watercolor of Peter Fendi an idyll at the beginning of life. A little earthling or a little earthling is born. There is a long way to go. At the moment, the child is still in the cradle, the young mother sits with a sibling next to it, sews a children's shirt and sings a song. The stamp was printed in a light (as pictured) and a dark color, the partial editions are not known.
