Helmut Schickhofer, born in 1942, grew up in Stein an der Donau, a picturesque old trading town where even the Austrian Expressionist Egon Schiele would not miss without painting. In 1966, Schickhofer completed his studies of painting with Albert Paris Gütersloh and Max Weiler with diploma. In 1967 he began to teach as an art teacher. His program was a radical one, one in which Andy Warhol could have been the godfather: everyone is an artist. In Schickhofer's gallery, the naive amateur painter was allowed to exhibit as well as the traditional avant-garde that left behind borders. Schickhofer was also versatile and versatile in his own artistic work. He found a very personal, impulsive style of painting over earlier non-objective works. The color alone was supposed to work, thrown into the canvas in violent gestures as if by a force of nature. Not many could or could paint like that. The poet Christine Nöstlinger confesses that even after years of "living together" with a Schickhofer image, she did not get used to it. It has kept its secret; but she herself has meanwhile stopped wanting to understand why it makes her sad and comforting at the same time. The brand image shows a painting by Helmut Schickhofer.
