Karl Korab was born in 1937 in the Waldviertel. As a child, he consciously experienced the horrors of the Second World War, which influence his artistic work to this day. Initial contact with art, a Kubin exhibition in the Albertina and a Kokoschka exhibition make him decide to become a painter at the academy. Disappointed by the atmosphere at the academy, he soon seeks his own artistic path, but nevertheless remains not without influences. The masters of Dutch painting or Italy as well as encounters with Ernst Fuchs or Anton Lehmden influenced the artist. Likewise, as in Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Korab's work can not be classified as any of the prevailing art trends of the avant-garde, often subject to the allure of the new. Pretty early, already in 1969, he found to printmaking. He first erased, allowing him to transfer his drawing style to this medium without difficulty. From 1971 he turned to lithography, in which he found other and very different ways to carry out his pictorial ideas of painting in such color, original graphics techniques. The brand image shows the work "Fenster" by Karl Korab.
